Introducing...VNs! & Hierofania!

Hey guys! So I've been playing (or, more like, reading) visual novels for a long time now (almost three years now!) :D (but still,I feel like I haven't played much..) and I wanted to let those who haven't yet heard of them know about them! They're so cool!

Ehem, anyway, I've played quite a few of them, and I like the idea of this whole thing. Oh, don't forget an important category there, which is Otome Games! They've been rather popular recently, haven't they? Many people around the world are getting to know the world of visual novels and otome games, and some otome games(well,it's an exaggeration X), Hakuouki is the only one I know that have been licensed.:3 ) have even been licensed in America!

For those who aren't familiar with the term, visual novels are (and I quote from Mobygames) ,also called NVL games, "digital novels", and "choose-your-own-adventure games": games in which the story is told through text overlaid on a background representing the scene being described. The player's input is confined to periodically making choices which might affect the direction and outcome of the story. Mostly regarded as a branch of Japanese adventure, but Western examples exist as well.

So, put into simpler words, it's a mix between pictures, a novel, and music (not in all VNs) AND...You get to control(to a certain extent) the main character! The main character encounters different situations and meets different people throughout the game, and depending on what you choose in certain situations, the story changes, and  you get the ending your choices have led you to.

As for otome games : Otome(乙女) means 'maiden' or 'young girl', so they're games for girls where you aim for guys XD . A site that tells you a lot of info about otome games in English is >> . ^_^ And here's they're definition of  'Otome Game' since mine probably wasn't sufficient. "An otome game (乙女ゲーム, otome gēmu, literally meaning maiden game) is a video game that is targeted towards a female market, where one of the goals, besides the main plot goal, is to develop a romantic relationship between the female player character and one of several male, or occasionally female characters."

Some VNs have very interesting and captivating stories, and it can become an addiction! XD
Aand sometimes you could even become insanely addicted to certain otome games and you don't know why!!

Anyway, today I'm going to present to you a visual novel that I have played some time ago, which really piqued my interest. :3 Its creator is currently working on a sequel!

It is NOT an otome game :P

The title kind of caught my eye so I looked up the word and it turns out the original word is 'Hierophany' which signifies 'a manifestation of the sacred' (Wiki of course :P)..Interesting, right?? :3
I think the introduction the author out on the site is enough, and it retains its mystery so I won't mention any more details about the story itself.

Click on the image and go check it out! I personally liked it, although it left me (and probably many others) with unanswered questions. The art is unique, and I  absolutely loved the music <3. Even after I finished the game, I kept it open just to listen to the soundtrack ~  (─‿‿─)
Still, the main and most important factor on which I base my opinions (on many/most VNs) is of course the story! The narration was pretty good, and it gave the whole plot this..somewhat cool atmosphere , which was but a bonus to the already 'vivid' story, as I like to call it. :)

This might just be me overrating it, and maybe I am, because I really like it but, it wouldn't hurt to give it a try! There's a first for everything! So you might want to go to their download page! :3

You see, I'm almost always apprehensive of giving strong opinions about something, let alone recommending something to others, for fear that people might not like it, or blame me if they don't find it as interesting as I did...In the end I've always felt guilty about that..
Nevertheless, I think I'll do my best to change that cowardly attribute of mine from now on  X ) And I'm starting now!!
