Hanayaka Nari, Waga Ichizoku Jpcsp Voices

Hello~
Since I've been interested in otome games for a while now, I've been kind of following some otome gamers' blogs and forums related to psp emulators.(since I prefer playing them on my PC)
I've noticed that some people were having problems trying to run the game 華ヤカ哉、我ガ一族 (PSP) with voices so I thought I'd put the Jpcsp configuration that worked for me here.

I sometimes also use ppsspp for other otome games, which runs them perfectly btw, but unfortunately the voices in Hanayaka Nari, Waga Ichizoku didn't work there.

First, for those who don't know how this whole thing works, I recommend you go there to get started. That person's tutorial helped me a lot when I first started.(I hope I'm allowed to link to their blog..? >_<)
I used Jpcsp version 3488 by the way.
(*Note: I don't know if it's mentioned in the blog I linked to, but putting Jpcsp launcher in the Jpcsp folder and using it to run the emulator makes things easier..)

After you've done all the steps written there('Setting up the Voices' is essential!), put your game ISO in the ''umdimages'' folder, and run Jpcsp (newest version/just use the one I used), use the following configuration:

(Sorry for the bad quality..)

*I didn't really do anything in the Audio and Memory tabs, but the video tutorial in Aurora's blog says to check the first two in the memory tab.

Actually, I'm not even sure if what I did there is the right configuration for everything. That's just what I did and what worked for me.
Oh, and I haven't tried this with the fan disc or the sequel, but I hope it works with them too.. I'm planning on getting them..

I hope that helps!

  1. Ah thank you for the tutorial!! This would be a great helpl :) Unfortunately, I got rid of my ld laptop and I really don't want to use soundforge.. (it made my old laptop super slow).. As much as I want t o play hanayaka with voices, is there no other option than using soundforge to set up the voices? Thanks ^^

  2. Actually, if you follow the steps for the new method (getting atracplug.dll & atrac3plus2wav.exe) you won't have to 'actually install' Sound Forge. You'll cancel the installation once you reach the part where it tells you to download Visual C++. You see, you just need a single file. (Btw, you can google for the 9.0e build 441 version. ;) Apparently anything else won't work..) The new method's under the 'Setting up Voices' title.
You don't have to install the Sound Forge 10 in the emupack anymore. :) (I believe so..Just do and install everything else in the tutorial except for the 'installing Sound Forge 10' part. I hope it works~!)

  3. Oh okay that's good :) I did it, but now I have no graphics :/ I don't understand, it's just a flashing screen now, even though I can hear the background music after 10 minutes. Still just a flashing screen -cries-

  4. Ah actually I unclicked all the video options that you had selected and left only two checked (vertex cache and enable saving GE screen). Now it works! Sure the OP video doesnt have sound, but everything else works great!

While its perfect now for the game, its almost perfect for the fandisc (kinema mosaic). Everything is fine except there are three dim white llines across the faces of each sprite when they talk. No matter what I do, I cant fix that :/ Thoughts?

  5. Oh! Glad it finally worked for you!
Hmm..You know, you can just fiddle around with the video options until one of them works. That's what I did anyway. :D Did you try running the game with a different render?(one of the top three options) And sometimes using the shaders helps. Oh, and the GE screen. Btw, you used the version I used, right?(3488) And did you follow all the steps in the tutorial I linked to? Maybe something went wrong along the way.

And about the OP sounds.. Are you sure you have all the sound programmes/plugins installed? (Sonic Stage, Sound Forge, OpenMG, OpenAL) And, I don't know why, but I found that I also have Xuggle-Xuggler on my PC.. It has something to do with the sound but I don't remember what it was for. Won't hurt to download it though. :D I think it's related to Sonic Stage..
